About

Deborah Horton is a licensed clinical professional counselor candidate in Montana and a licensed professional school counselor K-12 in Montana.  In her private practice, Mindful Montana Wellness, she provides therapeutic counseling services for adolescents and adults in individual, family, and group sessions.

She worked from home from 1990 until November 2011 as an editor and freelance writer raising 3 boys with her husband of now almost 26 years.  When the youngest was a sophomore in high school Deborah decided to go back to work outside the home and got a job at a local high school in the assistant principal’s office.  Almost immediately, she was drawn back to the career she had planned when she started college at age 18 over 30 years ago, a psychologist.  In 2012, she went back to college and finished her bachelor’s degree in 2 years graduating in December 2014.  In January 2015, she started the Masters program and graduated Magna Cum Laude in July 2016.

Outside of family time and activities such as camping, fishing, and boating, Deborah enjoys writing publishing 6 books of poetry and 1 novel so far, reading, movies, music, British TV shows, science fiction, all things space related, and a good game of Rummikub.
